Privacy Policy

Privacy is a top priority for Jo Roberts Pilates and this statement sets out what measures we have in place to ensure that information we hold on our clients is both appropriate and secure. We do not use members' data for marketing and will never share the data.

The following describes the information we collect and how we secure it.

To allow us to communicate with members we need at the very least to have the member's name and an email address. An emergency contact telephone number is also regarded as essential.

In addition, for insurance purposes, every member is asked to complete a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR Q). This allows us to deliver the most appropriate exercise regime with due regard to an individual's level of fitness and medical and/or physical limitations.

The Data Protection Act 2018 is the UK’s implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that imposes additional and stricter controls on how personal data is held and processed.

We ask all our members to register on our web site, which will involve completion of the PAR Q form. Should anybody be unable to register in this way please contact Jo.

Every member will be given a password that they can change and that will control access to their data. Passwords are 'hashed', which is an extremely secure way to protect members' passwords from hackers. This means, however, that it is not possible to manually email a member's password should they forget it. The member will need to use the link on the login page. They will then receive an email with a new random password which will be activated by clicking a link. They can of course change this password from the members' dashboard page (Update Profile) once they are logged in.
